The railway industry in the Brightline corridor will soon be receiving a much-needed boost. Under the new 24.55 million USD grant from the United States Department of Transportation (DoT), safety will be enhanced along the corridor.
This is excellent news for both Brightline and the Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT), as they have been working together to improve conditions along the railway. The grant will specifically be used to target areas in Miami-Dade, Broward, Palm Beach, Martin, St. Lucie, Indian River, and Brevard counties.
With this new grant, both Brightline and FDOT can continue their work in making the railway corridor a safer place for everyone. The US Department of Transportation’s Rebuilding American Infrastructure with Sustainability and Equity (RAISE) program is providing the funding for this project.

Two new stations in Boca Raton and Aventura are now slated for construction, adding to the line and station improvements already underway. The new stations will provide additional access and connectivity for residents and visitors in these areas, as well as create additional job opportunities.
This grant from the US Department of Transportation is a big win for Brightline and FDOT as they continue working together to improve safety along the Florida East Coast Railway/Brightline corridor. The investment will likely lead to new expansions in their current rail line as well as a host of new safety equipment that will be integrated into the railway. This could be a big improvement for many of the railway supply companies that service this corridor as well as for the citizens and workers on the rail lines here.
